U.P. residents can write a business plan; everyone can learn about business loans
Two learning opportunities are available from Northern Initiatives, a nonprofit lender working throughout Michigan.
Applying for a Business Loan 101
A free webinar Sept. 24 will help entrepreneurs learn about business loans, including what lenders look for and types of financing.
Commercial Lender Kellie Hoffman will lead the webinar, which starts at 10 a.m. ET. Registration is online at www. northerninitiatives.org. and is open to everyone. Hoffman, who has 25 years’ experience in lending, will talk about the loan process, what information lenders look for, the various types of financing available to small businesses, and reporting requirements.
“Too often, entrepreneurs can’t access capital simply because the process is so frustrating or intimidating,” Hoffman said. “Every lender is different, but understanding what they want saves time and improves the chances of getting a loan.” Register now.
Business Planning Cohort
A free Business Planning course starts Oct. 1 and is open to all Upper Peninsula residents.
The cohort will meet every Tuesday in October from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. ET. Registration is limited and available now at www.northerninitiatives.org.
“Entrepreneurs at any level benefit from a well-thought-out business plan,” said Business Coach Jody Lindberg, who works throughout the U.P. “This cohort isn’t just for startups, who will benefit greatly, but it’s also for anyone who wants to grow their business.”
Cohort members will learn bout business financials, cash flow, different types of funding, and startup costs, and will walk away with a pitch-ready business plan. Register here.
